III. Physical properties:
a) Out looking:HPMC is a white or light gray pellet or fibril power with odorless.
b) Solubility: hardly dissolves in waterless ethanol, aether or -acetone. Separate, expands, in hot water with temperature about 80℃ to 90℃. swiftly dissolves when cool down. The solution is very stable. Gelatin at high temperature. Good humectants with good dispersibility, adhesive, thickener, emulsification, water keep ability and film forming ability and oil resistance. The film formed possesses good toughness, flexibility and transparent. It can dissolve in some organic solvents or some water-organic components. Can be mixed with other emulsification agent due to non hydronium structure but easy salt out. Solution is stabilized at PH2-12.
c)Density:0.20-0.60g/cm3 with density about 1.3g/cm3

IV. Dissolving Process
MC will agglomerate when directly added to water and then dissolve. In this way it dissolves very slow and hard. Suggested methods as followers:
1. In hot water.
MC does not dissolve in hot water. The primary HPMC can be uniformly disperse in hot water. Then cool down in two ways:
a) Add hot water in container and heated to over 70oC. Add MC gradually while slowly, stir. At the beginning, MC float on the top of water, then turns into slurry state stir and cool down.
b) Add water in container to 1/3 or 2/3 of its content. Heated to over 70oC add MC by sequence of a). Make it disperse to form slurry state. Add cool water or ice to the resideual content, stir and cool down the mixture.
2. Powder combination.
Mix MC with identical volume of other powder, disperses them sufficiently then add water to the mixture result MC dissolves without agglomeration.
3.Organic solvent wet.
Dispersed or wet with orgnic solvents such as ethanol, glycol or oil, then add water can cause MC completely dissolves.

V. Application
Chemical ingredient MC is widely used as thickener, protective glue, auxiliary emulsification agent, coloring matter, adhesive of tablets or coating forming agent. Oral defecation agent as well as bases collutory and eye drop agent. Main raw materials of Oral defecation agent and eye drop agent. Also, it can be used as framework material. MC can be made to hydrophilic sol framework. Micro hole film coating or multi layer coating film it controlled released matrix agent. MC with low viscosity is ususlly used as emulsification agent of water packed oil emulsion while MC with high viscosity can be used as thickener, adhesive agent suspending agent and tablets agglutinate. MC can also be mixed with HPMC as film coating of tablets.

VI. Packing, transport and storage
15kg or 20kg package in polyethylene bag or barrel with inner liners. Keep dry where good ventilated. Do not wet, and keep froom sunshine when transport.
